Golfing for a good cause
20 Feb 2012
HAVILAH Designer Jewellers were incredibly proud to have been a sponsor of the Coca Cola Wings & Wishes charity golf day on Friday 17 February.
The event was hosted by St Francis Links Golf Course. Local celebrities Dave Callaghan & Vlam Michau came out to play and show their support.
Wings and wishes is a charity started by Coca Cola, which is dedicated to transporting critically ill children to receive life saving medical treatment.
The Fifth Tee was sponsored by HAVILAH, where players enjoyed a shooter before teeing off. HAVILAH also sponsored a stunning Blue Topaz & Silver earring and pendant set and two PANDORA bracelets, each with a charm. These prizes were raffled off, raising a total of R2 590 for the Wings & Wishes charity. Havilah also sponsored two Silver golf tee and marker sets for the winners of the day.
Congratulations to Mark Phillips, who won the earring and pendant set and Mr Koekemoer and Mr Geldenhys who each walked away with a PANDORA bracelet.
A big congratulations also goes to winners of the day, in first place, Mr G Smith and Mr G Oosthuizen of Nampak/ Megapak and to, female golfer, Natasha Paxton of Dataflo for hitting the longest drive.
All in all it was a wonderful day, slightly windy but golfers and sponsors enjoyed both the golf and the opportunity to support such a worthy cause.
